PARTICIPANTS GUIDELINES
- Date & Venue: 10-11th December 2022 Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
- Innovative Project/Idea Submission: All exhibitors must submit their innovative project/idea using an online portal before 30th November 2022.
- Project/Idea Acceptance Criteria: The selection committee evaluates, shortlists, and accepts innovations. After acceptance, an invoice will be generated, and the primary email address provided in the portal will get a notification.
- Note: Confirm participation by making a payment and submit payment information to the portal before 2nd December 2022.
- Project/Idea Assessment: Every accepted project/idea will go through a physical/online assessment during which they will present their project/idea. The presentation schedule and details will be provided through the primary email address provided in the portal on 7th December 2022.
- Award Ceremony: Winner awards will be presented at the AIINEx-2022 closing ceremony on 11th December 2022.
- Event Modes: Physical: Poster Presentation and/or Project Demonstration; Virtual: Poster Presentation or Video Presentation. Note: Virtual presentation will also be displayed in the physical hall.
REGISTRATION GUIDELINES
- Open to all academic/non-academic staff.
- Submission of a project requires registration.
- Registration and project submission for AIINEx-2022 must be completed online using this submission system (AIINEx portal);https://portal.aiinex.org/
- Only one registration is allowed on the AIINEx online portal. If you’ve registered for AIINEx-2020/AIINEx-2021, you may login using the same Username and Password.
- Once the email address is entered, the system will validate it.
- If an email address has already been registered on AIINEx portal, a second registration with the same email address will be denied.
- If you’ve forgotten your username or password, email info@aiinex.org. Your email and password will be included in our team’s response.
- Submission must include a completed online form and upload a payment slip as proof.
- Abstracts may be written in English. Participants are REQUIRED to utilise English for posters. English and Malay (with English subtitles) may also be used for innovative videos (Just for online participants).
- Participants who withdraw from the competition will not get a REFUND.
- Panel decisions are FINAL. No complaints will be taken into consideration.
- You should routinely check your spam folder for system notification emails.
- Most presentations are anticipated to be public, and most teams won’t be required to have an non-disclosure agreement (NDA). However, there can be certain exceptions. If you need privacy, please let us know well in advance, and we will make arrangements for the NDA form and a private (closed to the public) presentation with judges protected by the NDA.
- REGISTRATION PROCESS
- To submit, go to the “Submission” menu.
- Click on the “Registration” option to make an account on the AIINEx portal (if you have not already registered on this portal) and continue with the registration by signing in.
- Choose “AIINEX2022” from the “Select Exhibition” drop-down menu and submit your project.
- Participants can choose any of the THREE (3) competition categories, but each project id can only be entered in ONE (1) category.
- Choosing a RIGHT category will assist participants in achieving the highest scores in the competition.
- Teams are only allowed to have a maximum of FIVE (5) group members, including the Team Leader/Supervisor.
- First person registered in the portal will be regarded as a PRESENTER.
- Group members are counted by the name(s) listed on the online portal, and that list can’t be changed.
- One paragraph abstract must be in English and consist of 250-400 words.
- A good abstract contains a background, problem statement, objective, novelty, benefits to society etc.
POSTER CONTENT (Please follow format as below)
- Participant must provide an A1 size poster (594 x 841 mm / 23.4 x 33.1 inch).
- Poster must also be uploaded in the google drive as an image. Use following file name format: Category – Project ID.
- One way to make your poster visually appealing is to use colours as background or text. However, be careful in your colour choice.
- The cost of preparing the competition materials is under the RESPONSIBILITY of the PARTICIPANT.
- There must be the following information in each submitted poster: Name of Project; Leader, Project Members & Institution; Introduction/ Research Background; Problem Statement; Objectives; Novelty; Benefit to the Society; Commercialization Potential
VIDEO CONTENT
- Participant must provide a 5 minutes video. (There is no restriction to use other supporting video presentation such as PowToon, Spark video, power point video presentation or a recording of you presenting the product).
- Video must be uploaded in the google drive.
- Submit your video link to Connecting Asia google drive link. (Use following file name format: Category – Reference number).
- Please make sure that the video should have clear sound with minimum background noise and lighting.
- Minimum background noise
- There is no restriction to use other support video presentation such as Powtoon, Spark video, power point video presentation or a recording of you presenting the product.
- We suggest you to emphasis on the evaluation criteria as shown in 4.13. A clear and creative video presentation may give a good impression to the juries.
- VIDEO DURATION IS STRICTLY LIMIT TO MAXIMUM 5 MINUTES ONLY.
- All projects must be submitted in English; if videos are in Malay, they must include English subtitles.
- The resolution of the video should be high definition (720p or 1080p). The video should also be saved as MP4 or another standard file format that can be opened on Windows or Mac.
MEDALS & AWARDS
- A medal and a certificate will be issued for each project before the closing ceremony. However, additional medals/certificates may also be issued with an additional fee. Similarly, lunch and dinner coupons may be given with the additional payment. Note: A certificate and a medal will be sent through courier to online presenters.
- The ASIA Innovative Video Award will be announced after the highest viewing on the YouTube channel “ASIA INTERNATIONAL INNOVATION EXHIBITION”. This award will be awarded to the best of the best innovation in the exhibition (It will be selected from all three categories). It can also be named with the name of the platinum sponsor.
- Special awards for motivating young innovators.
- Total Cash Prizes = RM 15000.0

- You’ll have access to the exhibition floor,

- We also encourage you to participate in free presentations and workshops (both AIC-2022 & AIINEx-2022) during the event
